Management information systems on the Fisheries Sector of Bangladesh

The project aimed to identify actions required to improve upon the existing collection and processing of fisheries information on inland and marine fisheries in Bangladesh through the Fisheries Resource Survey System (FRSS) and other survey systems. An assessment of the variety and format of the cruise data for incorporation into the Department of Fisheries (DoF) database; an appraisal of the current marine fisheries data collection and processing systems; an examination of the current database system in DoF Dhaka, and preparation of a project identification document for the design of a survey to provide the development of under utilized marine resource pelagic fisheries.
