Provision of CCAMLR International and National scientific observers for two UK flagged vessels operating in the Ross Sea exploratory fishery for Antarctic toothfish (Dissostichus mawsoni). Vessels fishing in exploratory fisheries are required to carry at least two observers in order to meet the increased sampling requirements.
MRAG provides the training, organisation and logistics associated with observer placements, including the supply and equipping of observers, travel to and from embarkation points, communication and coordination with fishing vessels. After each deployment MRAG check and verify the observer data and reports and submit them to CCAMLR.
