The purpose of this contract was to provide an observer to monitor bycatch in the Danish Seine fishery in the North Sea/ Celtic Sea on board F/V Aravis. 

This project was developed alongside industry, due to concerns about non target species catch levels. 

Principal duties were to:

  • Monitor bycatch on this vessel,
  • Recording the number and weight, and
  • Validate vessel catch weight records.
