The RiU programme aims to maximise the poverty-reducing impact of the previous DFID funded natural resources research outputs generated under the Renewable Natural Resources Research Strategy. This project, under their innovation challenge fund, builds on an existing IDRC funded project in order to provide RNRRS inputs from the FMSP and NRSP land water interface. MRAG primarily provided technical expertise relating to Fisheries Management Science Programme (FMSP) outputs. Specifically this has related to management strategy development and policy formulation related to integrated use of floodplain resources including fisheries. MRAG has also provided inputs into communicating the management messages to a range of stakeholders but particularly to policy makers.
