Social Ethics

MRAG auditors are trained in the SA8000 standard for labour practices in the workplace, which is applicable to the seafood processing and supply industries. There is, as yet, no globally applicable labour standard for the fishing industry, however MRAG can offer our own auditing process involving an in-depth assessment which has been applied to fisheries from Latin America to Southeast Asia. This assessment is tailored to the specifics of the fishery and the country and provides the buyer with background information, risk areas and improvement measures.
