The provision of consultants with expertise in marine fishery socioeconomic assessments to assist in Fisheries Socio–Economic Survey For The Emirate Of Abu Dhabi. Socio-economic profiles were developed by MRAG for each of the fisheries sub-sectors to allow estimation of the social and economic importance of these subsectors. These provided a baseline from which a socio-economic model was developed by MRAG. This tool enabled the estimation of the costs/benefits incurred to each sub-sector (to participant and operation level) associated with different levels of regulation (capacity reduction/increase) for each fishery. Training was provided to staff from Emirate and national ministries on the use of this model.
