This project assessed the potential environmental impacts on the fish communities of the proposed transfer of water by means of a canal between the Mabole/Tabai and Rokel/Sel river systems. Project work included compiled community composition of the fish from each river at the time of sampling; an assessment of the impacts of the proposed inter-basin transfer (IBT) of water on the fish communities and the implications for their genetics and an assessment of wider impacts likely to arise from the IBT, highlighting red flag issues.
