Callum has over seven years’ experience within the aquaculture industry both within research and consulting. He holds a PhD from the University of Stirling’s Institute of Aquaculture, where he researched the early development of Atlantic salmon and ways to improve the robustness of sterile triploid fish. As an aquaculture consultant he coordinated and participated participating in projects involving a wide number of environments, species, and culture systems providing him with a diverse knowledge of aquaculture worldwide. Particular areas of focus include genetics and epigenetics, research and development of sustainable aquaculture technologies and techniques, training and teaching, changing mindsets, market analysis, commercial due diligence and strategy development. He is a passionate believer in the potential of sustainable aquaculture to provide livelihoods and alleviate food/nutritional insecurity worldwide.
